| Description: |
Kathleen Aird has lived in Glenelg, a bayside suburb of Adelaide, for 25 years and currently works from her home-studio there.
She
has travelled extensively through Indo-China, especially the kingdom of
Khmer, with its ancient ruins and strong spirituality. Her love of the
sea and her investigations into the feminine psyche, combine to produce
imagery that radiates light, life, colour and tranquillity.
After
graduating from the South Australian School of Art in 1971, Kathleen
taught secondary school art for many years. She currently lectures in
drawing at the University of South Australia.
Her
work is represented in private collections throughout Australia and
internationally and she has won numerous prizes and commendations.
