| Description: |
Joseph Austin was born in Manilla to Australian parents in 1964. He
attended high school in Sydney , but at 16 left and became an
apprentice fitter and turner. At the age of 28 he began to
life drawing classes.
In 1995, Joseph moved to Tasmania and began a degree in fine arts,
graduating from the University of Tasmania with a B.F.A. in 1998. His
majors were Painting, Drawing and Printmaking. For Joseph, printmaking
proved to be the ideal medium as he was;
"able to explore all the things I am interested in - such as coral reefs, plants and the natural world". |
