Sabine Amos is a contemporary Australian artist born in Melbourne and now based in Adelaide.
She
completed her art studies and taught ceramics and hand painting in
Melbourne, including commissioned works for Government House and
selected galleries. Sabine has also worked as a colour consultant,
creative arts programmer and facilitator in the field of community
services.
Mandalas were traditionally created by Tibetan monks.
They are intricate designs often created within the parameters of a
circle and play a significant role in meditation and focusing of the
mind. Carl Jung was instrumental in introducing the art form and it's
inner benefits to the West.
Sabine has a fascination with the
creation of the Mandala and the power they posses to bring about deep
personal growth and change. Her work possesses a vibrancy and use of
colour that is uplifting and pleasant to the human eye. Colour is
instrumental in conveying the emotions that each of this series of 48
intricate Mandalas depict. |
